Happy World Book Day everyone! TPL absolutely loves reading and to celebrate World Book Day we asked resident book expert and child author, miniMD Heather, to review a book of her choice!

Heather’s Review: Gangsta Granny by David Walliams

Hello my name is Heather. I am reviewing Gangsta Granny by David Walliams, for World Book Day. Gangsta Granny is about a boy called Ben. Ben has to go and see his grandma, who is obsessed with cabbage soup. He suddenly finds out that she is a jewel thief, after a shock discovery. Ben and Granny go on the biggest adventure yet, to London.

My favourite character is the Gangsta Granny. It’s unexpected because you don’t think an old woman would be an international jewel thief. My favourite part is the ending – but it is very sad. I can’t tell you too much because I can give the plot away, but, Ben really learns to enjoy the time he has with his super Gangsta Granny.

Overall I thought the book was great, I give it 9/10. I would recommend this book to kids about 7-10yrs, it’s hilarious for kids my age, either for boys or girls!
